Right after the announcement of the winner (around 19.20 on 27 June) a press conference will take place in Parliament’s Anna Politkovskaya press conference room with the winner, EP Vice-President Evely Regner (S&D, AT) and Honorary President of the LUX European Audience Film Award and Chair of the European Film Academy, Mike Downey.
The shortlist is chosen by a panel of film professionals, and the winner is decided jointly by MEPs and the public through a “ratings” system, with the views of MEPs and the public weighted equally. MEPs are still submitting their views, and around 45000 public reviews have already been received.
