On Tuesday 30 May 2023, ING2 Members will jointly with AFCO Members dive deeper into the different rules of democratic institutions on transparency, integrity, accountability and anti-corruption, in order to formulate recommendations to strengthen Parliament's own rules on these aspects.

Newsletter 26 April 2023

On Wednesday 26 April 2023, ING2 Members will vote on committee's report on "foreign interference in all democratic processes in the European Union, including disinformation". In addition, ING2 Members will exchange views with EU DisinfoLab on its investigation into Russian influence operations. This will be followed by a presentation of the in-depth analysis “Enhancing the capabilities of CSDP missions and operations to identify and respond to disinformation attacks".

In the meeting of 30 March 2023, the Special Committee will consider the second draft report of ING2 on “Recommendations for reform of European Parliament’s rules on transparency, integrity, accountability and anti-corruption” with the co-rapporteurs, Mr Vladimír BILČÍK (EPP) and Ms Nathalie LOISEAU (Renew).

In the meeting of 21 March 2023, the Special Committee will cover two important aspects of its mandate. From 9.30 to 10.30, the Special Committee will consider the amendments received for its report on foreign interference. This is followed by an interparliamentary committee meeting (11.00 to 13.00), focusing on Member States’ experiences and best practices concerning electoral resilience to reinforce election integrity and mitigate foreign interference in the electoral context.

On Tuesday 28 February 2023, Members will have an exchange views with experts on "Setting Global Standards to Protect the Integrity of Information". The second part of the meeting will be a hearing on "Climate change disinformation - International disinformation impact on the EU’s climate goals".

In the meeting of 26 January 2023, the Special Committee will discuss together with several committees and delegations the recent cases of foreign interference in the European Parliament, including the allegations of corruption.

Newsletter 12 January 2023

On Thursday 12 January 2023, Members will exchange views on the draft report by ING2 Rapporteur Ms Sandra Kalniete, which follows up on the implementation of the previous report and aims to close legislative loopholes that could be exploited by foreign interference. In the second part of the meeting, Members will hear about the main findings of the study entitled “Legal Loopholes and the Risk of Foreign Interference”.
