INGE Special Committee
In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the President of the European Parliament has established a number of measures to contain the spread of the virus and to safeguard Parliament's core activities. The current precautionary measures do not affect work on legislative priorities.
Core activities are maintained to ensure the smooth running of the institution's legislative, budgetary, and scrutiny functions.
The mandate of the Special Committee on Foreign Interference in all Democratic Processes in the European Union, including Disinformation (INGE) finished on 23 March 2022. INGE held over 50 hearings with more than 130 experts during the eighteen months of work. The final report of the Committee was adopted in the plenary on 9 March 2022. The day after, the European Parliament created a new Special Committee (ING2) vested with the responsibilities to follow-up on the INGE 1 report.
