The Committee on Development, in association with the Delegation to the ACP-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly will hold a public hearing on 28 June to discuss the ‘Debt crisis and relief in developing countries’, moderated by Udo Bullmann (S&D, DE) and Charles Goerens (Renew, LU).
On 3 July, AFET and DEVE Committees are organising a hearing on “Implementation of the Neighbourhood, Development and International Cooperation Instrument (NDICI) – Global Europe". This hearing will serve to prepare a joint report, two years since the beginning of the MFF 2021-2027 and the entry into force of the regulation.
A delegation of four Members from the DEVE Committee traveled to Zambia from 19 to 21 June 2023. The delegation was led by MEP Pierrette Herzberger-Fofana (Verts/ALE, Germany) and was carried out jointly with the EU Commissioner for international partnerships, Jutta Urpilainen, making it the first ‘Team Europe’ development mission involving both the Parliament and the Commission.
On 23 May, DEVE and ENVI Members adopted their report on the Implementation and delivery of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with 65 votes in favour, 11 against and 5 abstentions.
