A delegation of AFCO Members will travel to Santiago and Valparaíso (Chile) from 19 to 21 June 2023. The main goal of this mission is to discuss the ongoing constitutional reform in Chile, get some first-hand information and thanks the experience gained, enhance the process to reform EU Treaties. Members will hold meetings with Chilean authorities, academics and experts to exchange views, best practices and send a strong signal of EU interest in the country's democratic constitutional process.
At the initiative of the Vice-President of the European Parliament, Evelyn Regner, and the Committee on Women's Rights and Gender Equality, the European Parliament will hold its third European Gender Equality Week during the last week of October 2022.
At the initiative of the FEMM Committee, the European Parliament held its second European Gender Equality Week during the last week of October 2021.
During the AFCO meeting of 2 December 2020, Dr. Andreas MAURER, Professor for Political Science and European Integration Studies, University of Innsbruck (Austria) presented a study commissioned by the Policy Department for Citizens' Rights and Constitutional Affairs on request of the Committee on Constitutional Affairs on “The European Parliament’s right of initiative”.
