EU framework for the social and professional situation of artists

On 29 June, EMPL Committee will host a joint debate with CULT committee to discuss the EU framework for the social and professional situation of artists and workers in the cultural and creative sectors. The rapporteurs will present the draft report to the members.
The proposal aims to enhance the working conditions of professionals in the cultural and creative sectors, with a particular focus on ensuring access to social security and equitable compensation, addressing cross-border challenges, facilitating collective bargaining, promoting education and training, preventing workplace harassment and discrimination, and regulating AI-generated artistic content, among other aspects. The EMPL Committee is scheduled to vote on this draft report on October 23, 2023.
